The Business Case

Why Fractional?

A full-time Director of Operations costs $120K–$180K in salary, plus benefits, plus a 3–6 month ramp before they deliver anything. And they bring experience from one property — theirs.

Most full-time hires don't meaningfully impact operations for 90–180 days. This work starts producing visible, measurable value in the first 30.

Fractional advisory delivers senior operational leadership at a fraction of that cost. No long-term commitment. Cross-property pattern recognition — I've seen what works at properties like yours because I've worked inside properties like yours.

The question isn't whether you can afford it. It's how much longer you can afford the gaps it would have found in week one.

The Process

Four Steps to Measurable Results

From first conversation to impact in under 30 days. No elaborate onboarding. No six-month ramp.

Discovery Call

20 minutes. No pitch deck. We identify your single biggest operational gap and tell you honestly whether we can help.

Diagnostic (2–4 Weeks)

Most clients start with a Foundation Audit or a 90-day retainer pilot. Both produce visible, measurable value in the first engagement.

Findings & Action Plan

Within 2–4 weeks: what to fix first, what it costs to ignore, and the ROI if you act. Every recommendation is costed and ranked.

Implementation

Move to a retainer for hands-on support, or run with the playbook solo. No lock-in. No pressure. Results speak.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked

What's the minimum commitment?+
For retainers, 3 months. After that, cancel with 30 days notice. For project work (audits, secret shops, culture programs), there's no ongoing commitment — it's a defined scope with a fixed fee. Most clients start with a single diagnostic to prove the value.
How is this different from a consulting firm?+
Two ways. First, you get me — not a junior analyst with a template. Every hour is senior, hands-on advisory from someone who has operated inside properties like yours. Second, I stay through implementation. Traditional consulting diagnoses and disappears. The retainer means I'm accountable for results, not just recommendations.
Do you work with restaurants or just hotels?+
Both. The service excellence and operational fundamentals are the same — the application differs. For restaurants, the entry point is usually a Service Secret Shop or a targeted Culture Program. For hotels, it's typically a Foundation Audit.
How many clients do you take at once?+
Three to four retainer clients maximum. The whole point of fractional advisory is that you get real attention, not a name on a roster. If I'm at capacity, I'll put you on a waitlist or recommend someone who can help in the meantime.
What if it doesn't work?+
Then you cancel after 90 days with zero friction. But here's the real answer: if the diagnostic doesn't surface at least 3x its cost in recoverable value, something unusual is happening — and I'd rather tell you that on the intro call than take your money for six months.
